How many times do you use a pool towel before washing it?

| How many times do you use a pool towel before washing it? We dry them out between uses and then wash it after the third use, but I’m wondering if this is unusual. It seems like such a waste to wash them after one use, and that’s a lot of laundry since we hit the pool at least once almost every day. |

| Is it your pool? I go to a public pool and the towel gets on the floor of the locker room, etc. I wash every time. |

| Our's usually end up on the ground either by the pool or dropped in the locker room after swim practice so I wash those after one use because they're now officially gross. If DH or I swim and gently towel off, I dry and reuse those towels. |

Once if I’m at a public pool. I come home with a sopping wet bag of stuff that goes straight into the washer.
Several times (just like bath towels) if I’m at a private pool and can hang them right up. |

| So we have a pool and this is basically my worst summer nightmare. I can do a load or two of towels a day if we aren't careful and hang them. Im basically walking around the yard the whole summer hanging them over the deck. I try and get a few uses out of them before they hit the laundry. I am really strict with my own kids and they know they get ONE towel a day LOL! |

| We wash them every time we go to the pool. If I had my own pool and a place to hang then, I’d likely go 3 days or so. |

every 2-3 days? three kids on the swim team with practice 5x/week + weekend meets.
Kids don't go into locker room, so they go from backpack to body, hung around their neck when they walk home, and home to be hung up. |

| Local pool, one time. On vacation beach/pool towel? A few times before wash, unless it is obviously gross or sopping wet. |

| I hang it and reuse once, but that’s because I only use the towel on my body and I don’t drape it on public chairs or anything. I pull it out of my bag, use it, hang it on a hook while I change, and go home to hang it up. |

Wow, I wash all towels used on my body (pool towels and bath/shower towels) after each use.
Honestly I reused towels when I was in college but I didn't realize upper middle-class adults really did that. |
