Two moms at the pool told me they have season passes and take their three children 3-4 times per year. These are solidly upper middle class but not extremely wealthy families. I'm wondering if this is normal behavior. We took our kids to Disney once, for a week. I'm wondering if my young grandsons will expect this?
|
| Lol no they will not expect this. These moms are probably Disney fanatics. I know two people with family passes to Disney and both are just obsessed with Disney. |

People love Disney. You either love it, or you don’t. But Disney people don’t expect others to understand, and we are fine you think we are crazy.
That said, it’s possible these folks own Disney Vacation Club membership and so they visit often. Or they just like Disney. |
There's a family in our preschool who goes twice a year. They have season passes and the dad's parents live about 2 hours from Disney. They usually go for a week spending 2-3 days in the parks and then 3-4 days with his parents. My parents live about 45 minutes from Disney and we visit them at least once a year (it used to be we'd visit them once and they would visit us once, but Dad's having problems traveling, so we may be going more often for the next few years). Lately we've gone to Legoland more than Disney but last week, we did go to Disney again. |
| My husband’s new money cousins do that. They’re very flashy. |
| It isn’t common, if that’s what you’re wondering. Lots of families go to Disney Land or World, but unless they live close only a tiny percentage go multiple times a year, or even once a year. |
| Yes, the criminally insane do. |
| I lived about an hour from Orlando for a bit and it was very very common. Its very cheap for FL residents and we would go on the days the crowd meter was at its lowest. |
I live in SoCal and have friends who take their kids to Disney probably once a month or so. I always say that you make it less special with such frequent visits. |
|
I think some families go for shorter trips -- maybe 4 or 5 days with travel, combined with school workdays They go twice a year.
My DH would go every weekend with our DCs if he could! There are pretty cheap flights on Frontier airlines from Dulles. |

BIL & SIL are Disney fanatics.
They have some kind of timeshare that they use when going down there. SIL also works for an airline so they get tickets that way and also fly standby. They go at least once per month. Their plan is to move to FL once BIL finishes with his residency in this area if possible. I've been to Disney 4 times in my life and I feel like that was 2 times too many. When SIL went to school in CA, she had a Disneyland annual pass and would sometimes go a few times per week. It wasn't unusual to see her posting pictures about going to dinner at a certain area of the park because she loved their food or was craving one of their treats. |
Yeah - we're in FL with annual passes that we gave up last year when I said "Who wants to go to Disney this weekend?" and the kids responded with "Not again "
After 6 months though, they were begging to go back. We usually go about 5x a year for a couple of days each time. |
| We used to go 2-3x a year from when I was 4-college. |
| There's a huge disney community who LOVE WDW, myself included. Many of my friends go 4+ a year. It's a hobby and a vacation |
| My co-worker takes her family to WDW at least twice per year. They usually do 1 Disney cruise per year as well. |
