gate checking carseat on Southwest?

Does anyone know if we can gate-check our child's carseat? The wait time is really long on the 1-800 SW number; I'll call them later but thought one of you might know. Thanks.

yes you can. we fly them at least 2x a year (most recently in May) and checked 2 seats at the gate. No problems.

We actually used the car seat on board, but checked the stroller at the gate quite easily.

yes just make sure they tag it and you get a tag.
