Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth Maine?

If you’ve stayed here, do you recommend it? Looking for a nice hotel for a short vacation after picking up our children at camp near Portland. Thanks

We've gone the last several years. I almost don't want to say how much we love it because I don't want it to be harder to book. We are heading back there in August and I can't wait

Thank you! The website says it has a pool but I don’t see it in any pictures. Is it nice/have you used it during your stays? The beach looks very pretty. We have active teenagers. Is there a town nearby or would you go to Portland for restaurants? We’ve stayed in Portland many times but this looks like a peaceful alternative.
Thank you

Have stayed there many times:

1. There is a pool. Not huge but definitely there and very nice.
2. There isn't much of a town center per se, but Portland is only about 20 minutes, and there are some excellent restaurants in South Portland about 10-15 minutes away.
3. The beach right there is really great...a local kayak/SUP rental place opened up on that beach. For active teens they also rent bikes at the hotel.
4. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing, but also just to have apps and drinks overlooking the ocean is really awesome.

We would stay there more often but it is quite pricey, even in more traditional off seasons. Also bring a light jacket - it is usually much cooler there than even in downtown Portland.

Thank you very much! I’m booking it now, sounds perfect for what we are looking for right after our kids have been away at camp.

You will love it! They have s'mores by the fire pit every night (which may be a bigger hit with my little kids vs teens, I guess). Be sure to hit up the lobster roll food truck near the lighthouse- it's amazing.

Couple of restaurant recs that do not involve going to Portland (where there are 100 awesome places):

1. David's 388 in South Portland. Cozy neighborhood outpost of famous Portland restaurant. Bonus is the chef lives close by so is more likely to be here than Portland.

2. Saltwater Grill - overlooks Portland across the harbor, located in a marina. Good food, great atmosphere.
