Eighth Grade movie.

Has anyone seen it? Plan to? Take the kids?

I'd like to see it but will probably wait to rent it at home. It looks really good. My 10 year old is too young for it according to reviews, but think it would be good to show her in two years or so.

Maybe

I want to take my rising HS freshman. But it has apparently not been release in NOVA yet. Does anyone know where it is playing.

US Weekly highlighted the movie, so I'd imagine it will be shown broadly soon.

I plan to see it. It’s not showing yet near me. I’ll take my 13 and 15 year olds.

Starts Thursday at Landmark E Street and Bethesda Row. Have you guys heard of Flixster?

Nothing like 13 imho.

Saw it with my girls and they loved it. Very accurate and ultimately heartwarming.

Thanks, going to watch it this Tuesday!

Just saw it. It was great. Definitely good to take teens to.

It’s rated R - is it appropriate for a 12 year old?

At Bethesda Row

I saw the preview for it and while it sounds very well done, I was struck by the parallel to my own 8th grade experience. Like the girl in the movie, I was named quietest in my 8th grade class. I had kind of forgotten about that (or at least only think of it every 5 years or so). I'm still quiet-ish, but am comfortable with that being my personality and can certainly be outspoken now on issues that call for it.

I definitely want to see it. Heard an interview with the writer/director on Filmspotting and it got me even more excited.

We don't have kids so no answer to that.
