All-Star Fest- how is it?

If anyone goes today, I’d love to hear how it is and if you have any tips for making it a good experience.

My spouse took our 3.5 year old this morning. They both really enjoyed it. There was a lot to do including batting, fielding, etc for the kids. The 3.5 had fun, but it would be even better for kids a couple years older. There are also museum type exhibits and they got fun custom baseball cards of themselves - I guess Topps has a stand to make them? They were only there a few hours because that's all the kid could handle, but someone with a longer attention span and love of baseball could probably spend all day in there.

Is this something where you have to register for a specific time in advance, or can you just show up?

You need tickets: https://www.mlb.com/all-star/fanfest

The tickets are timed -- you have to go on the day you choose, and can't show up before your time slot.

Planning to go tomorrow - anyone know how strict they are about the “no backpacks” and “no outside food”?

OP here. I saw plenty of people with backpacks. I don’t know what they would say if they saw food in your bag during the security check but it wasn’t the most thorough of searches.
