Why stop at three? Why not one school to rule them all?

Oh please -- the only good school on this list is GDS. The dumbest kids in my daughter's hs came from St. Patricks and Holy Trinity is for moms who want to raise their kids a la 1950.

Hmmm. That is an interesting thought PP. And really helpful. Thank you for your insightful and open-minded contribution.

OP, if this is real question are you asking, you need to decide what type of school would fit YOUR child best, and from there, you will yield the best results.

I have a DC who attends one of the schools listed above and I NEVER thought that I would even like it, but I do, and most importantly, my child is thriving and happy. Go look at as many as you can without losing your mind and try to "see" your kid there. ALL of these schools send the kids along to wonderful upper schools or colleges, so do not worry about that. Rightness of fit is more important than rightness of name.

Any views about Washington Episcopal School? How does it compare to GDS and the other "top 3"? Does it have a good after school program?

You always post this about this school. Somehow, PP, I think you have an agenda. Give it a rest.

St Patrick's is one of the very best PK-8 schools in the area. Its academics are outstanding, its adminstartion is highly regarded, and the kids garduating in 6th and 8th are offered admission in large numbers to St Albans, NCS, Maret, Sidwell, Potomac, GDS, Holton, Landon, and other excellent schools, including nationally recognized schools like Choate and Deerfield.

What sort of comparison are you looking for? Comparison as to academics? Girls' athletics? Strength of math team? Commute time from Capitol Hill?

I'm not trying to be obnoxious; I just think you will get more meaningful responses with a more specific question.

Y'know, if I were wondering about WES, I would definitely start by resurrecting a really old thread on a tangentially related topic

There are also recent threads here and there about WES.
Most of them have the same message.
