Southwest to stop serving peanuts

I think this is a good move, but people sure are ride or die for their legumes.

I’ve been on Southwest flights where they announced peanuts could not be consumed due to an allergy on board

I thought airlines stopped offering peanuts years ago.

so, they stop serving peanut to protect those who are allergic to peanuts , but are likley smart enough to know that they can't eat peanuts,

but yet they still allow dogs and cats to travel in the cabin. who's protecting the travelers who l don't have this choice to avoid the dog/cat and are allergic.

not a very newsworthy story.

I feel the same way. We had a big announcement that no one could consume peanuts at the same damn time the lady next to me had a smelly cat.

Recently was served peanuts on a flight (can't remember airline - maybe delta or american?) and was surprised.

I’m not aware of any dog / cat allergies that are fatal if not treated immediately. Having to sit near an allergen sucks, but they’re not all created equal.

I don’t mind taking steps to reduce the amount of allergens on board but I think this just reduces it - not eliminates it, because as far as I know people can still carry nuts on.

You do have a choice. You know airlines allow animals, and you may be seated near one. Based on this knowledge, you have the choice not to fly. If you choose to anyway, that's your problem.

I always bring my own snacks, which usually includes nuts and peanuts.

And yeah, the banning of animals other than legit trained service animals (not comfort animals, or your pets) needs to be at the forefront.

You do have a choice. You know airlines allow animals, and you may be seated near one. Based on this knowledge, you have the choice not to fly. If you choose to anyway, that's your problem.

Doesn't that same logic apply to nuts?
