If I request a new card at Bank of America

So I’ve had my Bank of America debit card since mid 2015. In the last week or so I’ve had more than one place not be able to read the chip. So then I had to slide it. Should I request a new card? Mine expires in 2019, so if I request a new one will it have a later expiration year or the same?
