My GP, gyno, and fertility doctor would not test my thyroid past the baseline test since it was in the normal range but low. I decided to take the full panel through everlywell online. My T4, T3, and TSH are all either below the range or at the line. I am looking for a recommendation on next steps. Endocrinologist? If so, does anyone have a recommendation for someone in downtown DC or northern Va?
Thanks! |
| yes, endocrinologist for sure. |

Functional medicine doctor who specializes in hypothyroidism. If they suggest T4 without adding T3, insist on t3 and find a new dr.

| My experience with Dr Mark Tanen at Tyson’s has been really good. |

Dr. Stephanie Stein
The guidance on thyroid levels for TTC/pregnancy have changed over the past few years. In my experience, I have had doctors who follow the old thinking (my GP) and those that follow the new guidance (endo/OB). Be sure to check which range you're referencing. |
