Rec Soccer in Reston? New to this....

Are there any recreational soccer teams in Reston VA? I have a 8y old girl and I’m considering enrolling her in soccer. How does recreational soccer works? Do they meet once a week for practice (like ballet, gymnastics, etc?) or they meet once a week for practice plus on weekends?

Also, do they have to sell coupons for fundraising like I see little kids doing for their baseball teams?

My daughter is not into sports or physical activity, but she needs some kind of exercise. And I would like a team sport.

She is doing swim team this summer for the 1st time and although she did balk at it at first, now she really enjoys it and looks forward for her daily practices and meets. But I don’t think there is a good option for swimming all year king - or am I mistaken?

Great Falls and Reston recently merged their programs. The rec program is handled by Reston from what I understand. Its typically one practice a week and plus game on the weekends.

Reston Herndon Little League does not do fundraising in the fall.
GFR Soccer at her age she will play against U9s and U10s so she may feel overmatched physically and skill wise if she has never played before.
If so, enroll her in the skills clinic of GFR but not the team.
