Let's make this a fun thread and add all of our favorite questions that we love.

My 5 year old son has mild SN and is what we call "quirky." He is also "active." He's off-the-charts smart and does not follow any directions. Which progressive school would be the best fit? Lowell, Green Acres or Burgundy Farm?

Will all you anonymous people give me permission to euthanize my fundamentally healthy dog (cat)? I find that the bloom is off the rose now that I have a human child and I am tired of taking care of my dog (cat). It's not as fun as it was a few years ago. So is it OK to have him killed?

i take it your chid didn't get in into the best 3 so you are still bitter about it

Good lord... here we go again.

For a summary of the 1000's of previous posts on this topic:

"Big 3" usually refers to

(1) Sidwell Friends,
(2) the Cathedral Schools (Beauviour, St Albans, and NCS)
(3) and then either GDS, Potomac, and/or Maret

For obvious reasons GDS boosters will try to "assume" the 3rd spot goes to GDS, those that believe life does in fact exist south of DC will include Potomac, and the less vocal but older money crowd will advocate Maret

Many on this board have just resorted to the "Big 5" rather than battle it out for spot #3

Of course, this Big definition ignores many great schools that may in fact be a better fit for you particular child, and especially overlooks some stellar K-8 programs like Norwood, Langley, etc.

We'd have it a lot easier on this board if people just said "Top Tier Schools"... but that would not be as much fun. Folks love a good fight.

Them's fighting words. ("Less vocal but older money"? Have you already forgotten, "It's Maret, you morons?")
