| Is it a common practice to own more than one vacuum cleaner? I had a playdate yesterday at my house and the kids spilled a hefty amount of crumbs in the basement. My friend asked where I kept the vacuum for the basement and I told her it was upstairs on the 3rd floor. She seemed shocked that I didn't have one on each level of the house. Is this a thing people do? I never considered owning one for each floor of my house. I'm still capable of carrying a machine up and down the stairs. Granted, I don't vacuum very often since I have a weekly cleaning lady. Maybe if I did my own cleaning I could see the point. |
| We have 3 floors, one vacuume |
| Three floors, three vacuums. |
| She is shocked you are so cheap. |
OP here - that could be true lol! I do have a Miele though so maybe that gives me some street cred. |
| No, this is not a thing that most people do. If you have a crap ton of money and you're lazy, you might have a vacuum on each floor. |

I have neither three vacuum cleaners nor adequate closet space on each floor to store said vacuum cleaners. Your friend is a little out of touch here.
If I bought a new vacuum cleaner I might keep an old one for the basement, but that’s it. |
| Yeah we have 3 vacuum cleaners. The first floor is all wood so my Kirby wouldn't work on that anyways. Kirby upstairs for carpet and then a stick vacuum for the basement. |
| The person we bought our house from had a vacuum cleaner on each floor (two stories). But she was in her 90’s so it made sense that she wouldn’t want to haul a vacuum cleaner up and down stairs. |
| Have regular Miele on main floor. Stick vacuum in basement. |
| I do. I hate dragging the vacuum from floor to floor. It's a nice luxury. |
| That would be a waste of space for me. Although I would keep a vacuum in each floor if it's a robot vacuum. |
|
3 floors.
2 regular vacuums (one in the basement and one on the second floor). I keep a sweeper and broom on the main floor, but carry a vacuum to the main floor when I need to vacuum. I also have a Shop Vac and two handheld vacuums (like Dust Busters). |
| 3 floors, 1 vacuum (but it's a cordless dyson so it's easy to move it). We are thinking of adding a second one for our top floor. |
| Yes, of course. |
