He said that the media promoted Donovan McNabb because he was black. In fact, McNabb is a damn good player and players of all races were offended by Limbaugh's race baiting. In addition, Limbaugh is a known drug abuser and the NFL has strict anti-drug abuse policies.

I'd go along with the drug issue being legitimate, although even Brett Farve is a recovering addict. The Donovan McNabb comment was silly, but I guess he was getting paid to make provocative comments back then, and anything regarding race is just too hot to handle I suppose. Seems most of his race commentary is more along the lines of arguing that welfare has hurt the black family, which although controversial does not really seem racist.

I dunno. No dog in this fight, as I was a McCain man and Rush went out of his way to sabotage Mac (as did Hannity and the rest of the sheep on the right - proving that McCain really was the one chance we had in decades for a true independent minded non-partisan, but I digress). Just seems odd that people will get so up in arms simply over some political views. What if Bush wanted to buy the Astros?

Given his experience with the Rangers, the White Sox and Cubs would be licking their lips for a key trade.

Well the bid team has dropped Rush from the group. You can be in the NFL if you are convicted of assault, drug trafficking, dog fighting, vehicular homicide while driving drunk, and maybe if you were involved in a homicide (hey, Ray!).

But there's some things the NFL won't do. You just don't know when he's going to fire off some zinger about black people, and neither does the NFL. Most importantly, neither does Rush. Tthe owners don't want to bring on a Marge Schott in this day and age.

Bye, bye, Wind Bag.

Rush is a crass devisive buffoon. I dont care if he owns a team, but if I were on his team I would quit, and if it were my hometeam, I would stop going to games.

I think that the people who were upset were the stakeholders, which is why he was dropped from the bid. It wasn't like there was some outrage in the general public that led to him being dropped. The players didn't want him.
