Dropping PMI?

| Has anyone recently been successful in getting your lender to drop the PMI? Or has anyone recently refinanced the home loan to drop the PMI? |

| We just hit ours and received a letter from our mortgage company telling us the fee would be dropped, and the new payment amount would be reflected in our next statement. |

| We called our bank when we were approaching 80%, and the bank was very helpful letting us know how much we needed to pay off. We paid the lump sum, and the following month PMI came off as promised. |

| I paid for an appraisal through the bank and got the PMI waived. |

An appraiser is coming tomorrow to get PMI deleted without refinancing. WF customer here too and it’s been super easy so far - hope it continues!
When we hit a certain amount they called us to get the ball rolling. |
