Safest way to fly with a toddler?

Anonymous
I'm going to fly with my two-year-old and an infant in a couple of weeks. This will be the first time I've flown with both of them by myself, and I don't want to carry the heavy toddler car seat onto the plane with all the other stuff I'm going to have to carry. I've seen advertisements for some other toddler restraints, such as belts that strap onto the airplane seatbelts. Has anybody used these, or does anybody have other ideas for how to keep the 2-year-old safe without bringing the car seat onto the plane?

I have flown MANY times with my two children. Bring the car seat! And don't, no matter what, let them out of the seat to play. You life will be hell. I just flew 15 hours with my two, 3 and 7. They never even asked to get up except to go to the bathroom. They know the answer. Makes life so much easier and safer. Happy trails.
