Potomac Lighthouse Public Charter School

Anyone have any information about Potomac Lighthouse? Do they have a spanish immersion program? Academics? Administration? Parent community? They have a longer school day and school year...seems interesting.

Here's what I've heard:

A parent of a 1st-grader at WYY enrolled her younger child at Potomac Lighthouse because they offer Pre-K3 and she thought it would be convenient to have her two children in the same building.

(For those of you who did not know - Washington Yu Ying shares its incubation space with Potomac Lighthouse.) GUESS which school has the discipline problems...

Anyway, the aforementioned parent did not like it AT ALL. IOW = a bad choice, even if you're desperate.

My child went there last year. Do not send your child to that school!!!!!!!!!!! My child had a great teacher last there, but that teacher is no longer there. The only thing good about the school is the special classes. Their DCCAS scores were worst than DCPS! My child no longer attends that school.

Wow! Very strong feelings against the school. Thanks for the info...I'll keep up my school search.
