Zucchini Not thriving

Anonymous
My other veggies seem okay. There are little tomatoes, I have 3 cucumbers, but no squash from either of my 2 plants. Any ideas?

My zucchini and squash are doing great, but nothing yet on my cucumber. Is another plant shading them?

Do you have blossoms?

NP. The zucchini have blossoms but the fruit keeps shriveling up. I have noticed far fewer bees this year, but some pumpkin vines that grew out of my compost patch are setting fruit very well. Peepers and tomatoes are also doing okay.

My zucchini and squash put out 3 straight weeks of plentiful male blossoms before I got my first female. Now I've got 2 fruit. Give it time.

sounds like your problem is no pollinators. you can use a q-tip to pollinate then yourself: Rub a q-tip on the stamen, then into the female flower. Artificial zucchini insemination

Pp here - I find that cucumbers get pollinated more easily than zucchini - I thin

Sorry - I think smaller insects work for cukes but bees seem necessary for the zukes

This is OP- I think that the pollinators are part of the problem (one neighbor is using mosquito squad). But our plants aren't as big as they should be.

My plants are as big as they should be either. It looks like it will be a slim vegetable season for me.
