Interested to hear what people pay and what company you use. Is Mosquito Squad (or similar) worth it?
Our property is 1/3 acre. We’ve eliminated all standing water, purchased enough citronella products to last a lifetime, and tried everything else. Our yard remains unbearable. I got approximately 50 mosquito bites last night. If you use a service, please let me know how large your yard is, what you pay, what company, and how well it works. TIA |
| We have just under 1/4 acre and pay $110 per treatment. We usually do two treatments- one in late spring and one in mid summer. |
| I do my own - use DemonMax spray. I live in a southern climate with fairly bad mosquitos, and we have a pool, so it's best if I spray at least every 5 weeks. At our last house without a pool though (and where we didn't spend as much time outside, our porch was screened), I only sprayed every 8 weeks. It's quite easy. I eventually got a backpack sprayer which really helps. |
| $0. I don't want to kill off beneficial insects. |
I assume you mean the non-mosquito insects, because there just aren't a whole lot of benefits to mosquitoes. (And I think you're right, that the insecticide would kill off a lot more than mosquitoes.) |
Yep. When I sit outside I put a fan outside. After about 5 minutes bugs are gone |
| These pesticides are why there are fewer bees and butterflies which we actually need to pollinate our food. It also impacts small birds which eat these bugs. Please cover up. |

| $79 - mosquito Joe's every 2 weeks. I get the garlic one, safe for bees & butterflies. |
| We have it as an add-on service with our pest control. Its about $300 per year spread out as monthly costs - they come twice in the first month (May) and every month up till and including October. They will also come back if you have activity and the first spray has not worked. But it works and we've not needed to do that. Capitol Pest. I think if you don't have a regular service with them, its probably more. |
| We all pay a high price because it poisons the bees, fireflies, butterflies. Just wear some Deet and get rid of the standing water in your yard. |
My neighbors three doors away do that bug treatment every year and we have less of every type of bug in our yard now /

One fan? What kind? Indoor/outdoor? Stationary or oscillating? How large is your patio? |
| About $350-400 (can't remember the exact amount) for treatment every three weeks from June to October. |
| we have a ceiling fan on the back porch and it keeps the bugs away. |
