Babymoon in log cabin for Christmas?

Anonymous
DH just impressed me with the thoughtful suggestion that we should take a quiet Christmas vacation somewhere close by before baby arrives. I have visions of relaxing in a cozy log cabin amid breathtaking mountain views, with trails to hike and lots of snow for our 4 year-old to build snowmen and sled. But I have not found a lot of reviews for the diverse cabins in the area (mostly Shenandoah), and would appreciate any input/recommendations. Also, is there actually going to be a lot of snow at Christmas in the Shenandoah?

Thank you!

How far are you willing to travel? Have you considered Seven Springs or Hidden Valley in Pennsylvania?

Not too sure what the snowfall is like in the Shenandoah, but you might have more luck with snow in PA.

Chances of snow in the Shenandoahs at Christmas, almost zilch.

We stayed at a cabin in Shenandoah last year. Very nice atmosphere, deers literally passing 2 meters from the door to the room. However, not sure they are open over Christmas.
