| Can anyone who has voted already let me know if you can bring a sample ballot in with you? Usually I can keep track of what I’m doing but this election is a doozy. TIA! |
I brought mine in. They don't go through your bag! |
| You can bring paper but your phone needs to be off (so don’t rely on that). |
+1 I had a whole bunch of notes scribbled on a paper and they didn't seem to care. I know they don't want your phone near you. |
| I always bring my sample ballot with my selections marked. I also had in my hand a small pile of cards that were handed to me by the crowd in the parking lot. They had no problem with that. |
| This is why I voted by mail. I sat for over an hour in front of my laptop reading all of the candidates' positions. OMG. That was painful. No wonder why so many people vote based on sound bites and flyers. |
I do look up the candidates' positions, but I tend to rely on the recommendations of groups whose judgement I trust, such as the Maryland State Education Association which has their own list of who they like. Most local newspapers also have their own recommendations which can be useful information. I find that there are several offices I simply do not care about, such as Register of Wills or Orphans' Court Judge. I usually leave those blank unless I've already taken up a position. There is absolutely no way I could quickly research the dozens of choices for the Democratic Central Committee. I did look at the names to see if there was anyone I already knew but there wasn't, so I left it completely blank. |
| Thanks all! Brought in my marked up sample ballot no problem. |
