Expectant and Postpartum Moms
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I'm about 23 weeks along., but didn't have this problem with my first pregnancy I have been spotting and have been in to see the Dr. twice. We determined the main episodes were because of "marital relations" which we stopped a couple of weeks ago. But I still have light spotting every other day. Has this happened to you? Just curious if I'm alone in this experience.
Did he check your cervix? Did he do an u/s? I would ask for those.
Yep, I spotted every day for the first 7 weeks of pregnancy. Then I had a break and then at about 10 weeks, I had what I would describe as a gush of blood and then spotting for several days. Have had several ultrasounds since and everything is fine. My Dr. said that some people just bleed more easily (it's true--I also bruise really easily) and sometimes when things are growing/moving/more sensitive, you can spot. It's generally nothing to worry about unless you are bleeding heavily and cramping. I can see how you'd be nervous though if it didn't happen to you the first time.
Have you been tested for bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection? Either of these can make your tissues more irritated, which can lead to bleeding. (Experienced this 18 and 20 weeks... am now 28 weeks with no further problems).

OP here. Yep Dr. checked the cervix and did an u/s. Both normal and in good shape. I go back in two weeks and will let him know it is still happening a little bit.
I'm not too worried about it - though it is freaking my husband out. I'm guessing the cervix is just taking time to heal from intercourse and maybe my body is a little different the 2nd time around. Dr. said "do it like a grandmother" - i[ hello I already am! Only problem is that I am SO RANDY (best side affect of pregnancy for me) and now have to put the kabash on it. |
