I wish we had some reliable polls to go on. I'm fine with Frick, Krasnow, or Blair (preferences in that order). I don't think Frick has a real shot, so I don't want to waste my vote on him.
I fully expect Krasnow and Blair to split the vote and give the win to Elrich, whereupon our tax base will flee, businesses will choose NOVA, and our schools will degrade further, along with our property values. In turn, the County will collect even less in taxes and have less money for the schools, which will then get even worse. Yay. Nevertheless, I will cast my vote in an effort to prevent that. Does anyone have any actual data regarding who has the best shot - Blair or Krasnow? I will vote for either if it means a chance at defeating Elrich. |
| Everything I have seen suggests Blair has the best shot. |
+1 I honestly didn't even see anything suggestion that Krasnow is a contender. Blair has the WaPo endorsement and is self-funding an army of get out the vote people and brochures (and he himself was in the metro station this morning when I got in.) |
Same. Vote for Blair if you want to beat Elrich |
| Is it just one poster bsessively posting against Elrich? Or several? |
| well, I know it's at least two. I am one of them and the two other posts were either by one or two different people |
No. People either love Elrich or hate him. |
| Just curious. I, like op, am still struggling to decide. |
| Same dilemma. I’m going with Blair. |
| I’ve also been struggling with this. I like Krasnow and Frick the best too but will probably suck it up and vote for Blair. I guess. |
| Blair said he thinks the county runs itself. He’s a potential nightmare. |
| Ugh. I do prefer Frick. I can’t bring myself to vote for Blair but really don’t want Erlich. I’ll probably end up throwing away my vote in voting for Frick, sigh. |
Don't do that. Vote for Frick. He has a larger following than you might think. Vote for the best candidate, period. |
Actually, Elrich is the only one of the current Council members running who gives a *&(^ about existing neighborhoods. If Leventhal wins, housing values will plummet - because this is the policy he wants to see in order to make MoCo more affordable. Elrich is more moderate and reasonable - independent really - than you've been led to believe by those who fear him. He's kind of a parallel to Hogan. Ie, Hogan is to Republicans as Elrich is to Democrats. |
Elrich, moderate? That's crazy. He is quite far left. |
