This is really one of my favorite detective series in a long time. C.B. Strike is a war vet with an amputated leg. His assistant wants to be his private detective investigator partner. It's produced by J.K. Rowling, a BBC production. They have strong accents. |
I watched this on Cinemax and thought it was a great detective show. |
Bumping this old thread because I've just now found this series! Loving it so far. I especially like it because I had never seen the lead in anything else (Tom Burke) and I'm obsessed. And I also love Holliday Grainger in this. What a beauty and a great actress.
The OP mentioned this show is produced by J.K. Rowling - she also wrote the books under her pen name, Robert Galbraith. |
I absolutely love this show, mainly because of the two leads who I just want to get together so badly. In that respect, it reminds me of Mulder and Scully from the X-Files. However, the storyline/plots are SO convoluted and full of way too many suspects, red herrings, etc. I would prefer a much tighter story, if that makes sense. Too many random people to keep track of.
But oh, how I love Cormoran. The episode where his beloved aunt died just broke me. And then the one where he takes Robin out for her birthday... swoon. |
