Any competitive U12 boys soccer teams still accepting players?

I realize we are late in the game, but we are looking in the Rockville, Potomac, Gaithersburg, Bethesda, Olney area.

Best bet is to pick a league, see if you can join their Super Y team, and and let the coach know you're looking for a fall team.

I have never seen a situation where a coach has not been interested in bringing on another player if that player made their team stronger. I don;t know if you are new to the area, but with all of the military families this area can be fairly transient. Coaches are used to new kids moving into the area after tryouts. We have been on a number of teams who have added a player who moved into the area as late as August.

I'd call all the ones that are of interest. This is a transient town so they will always have a spot to fill over the summer.

What do they do if the roster is maxed and are unwilling to go over that number. For example U13 max is 18 but you can obviously have more just that only 18 can be rostered on game day, do they take on extra players even if that player is better than 50% of the team?

They will put you on a different team. I have seen a kid who is on u13 lower team play but plays and practices with the top u14 team. There are a lot of ways of gaming the system.

A roster is never maxed out if a player is good enough. On the girls side, some ecnl teams have 20-25 players on a roster and only 18 dress for games. More players more $$$
