GLB Friendly, Quality Kindergarten

Anonymous
I am looking for suggestions. I like many others am school shopping. I currently live in southern Maryland, but will drive or relocate if need be. Can any lesbian or gay parents (or their friends) suggest good quality GLB friendly elementary schools - public or private. I am not particularly looking at the $20,000+ per year elementary schools. I'll do it if it is my only option, but would prefer something more reasonable. My son is bright and I want him to learn to read this year and next. Looking for a school that offers languages, art, music, and some sports options.

Consider moving to Arlington, VA. There are lots of interesting kindergarten options (Spanish immersion, science focus, "traditional school", neighborhood schools), an openly lesbian elected school board member, and the schools are diverse. In addition to Spanish immersion, a number of the schools are beginning to offer Spanish as a part of the regular day, and some PTAs even offer after-school classes in French and Arabic. The schools all seem to emphasize art and music, including instrumental music at around 4th or 5th grade. It's a diverse community with a diverse -- including kids of gay/lesbian parents -- student body.
