I can't stand being sticky and hot even BEFORE working out. The heat makes me so tired. I feel cranky and gross and the gym will be so humid and stuffy.
I have no question. I just want to complain. |
| I'm with you - normally I'm a runner, gardener, walker, etc. I still do these - but the last few days have been so bad - no fun in it. So, in the summer I switch to more gym time - it's why I belong to one in the first place and I swim laps. Hanes Point is a great outdoor lap pool if you are a DC person. If you are not enjoying your exercise you are not going to keep doing it. So give yourself permission to cut back! |
| That's why I go early in the morning. And tanks and shorts (as opposed to yoga pants). |
| Is indoor gym not an option? |
| workout indoors? there are lots of home workouts you can do. could also take a class at the gym |
It is, and while it may be better than outside (not always - especially if there is a breeze) gyms are still pretty stuffy this time of year. This time of year sucks for those of us that tend to overheat quickly. |
Then swim |
| You need to find a higher-end gym if you think the gym is hot and stuffy in the summer. Most fancy gyms that I've gone to have the air conditioning on so intensely that I have to wear long sleeves in the middle of summer. |
Same with me. My asthma was kicking it during my OTF class today. |
|
The only thing i like about running in hot weather is I like to take cold showers afterwards. Feels great!
But, it was very stuffy on Monday, so it was actually risky to run in such humidity. That's why the have heat advisory warnings. |
Hains Point's pool is closed this summer: https://dpr.dc.gov/page/east-potomac-pool But yes, swimming is a good summer exercise! |
