Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
|
This is my first time to host Thanksgiving, and with a chaotic schedule and a tiny kitchen, I'm interested in ordering some ready-made Thanksgiving dinner items from a grocery store. (Or a restaurant if it's not too expensive.) None of the local stores seem to have anything about Thanksgiving orders yet on their websites. When do they usually start?
Got any recommendations? I'm in Bethesda. My family is southern, so I'd like to find a place that does cornbread dressing (that's stuffing) and giblet gravy. I may roast my own turkey and just order all the sides, but then again, maybe I'll just order the whole thing! Thanks in advance. |
| Honeybaked Ham. They'll deliver. |
| I am from the South. I have found Honeybaked Ham to be very yummy! Georgia Brown's probably does a ready made meal but would think it would be pricey. |
| Balducci's is good for sides. Taste is so-so but presentation and convenience are great. |
| I second Balducci's - you can buy the entire meal (including turkey) from them. We've done it 5 years in a row now. But we may try Dean & Deluca this year since the Balducci's in NW DC closed. |
| I've ordered mine from Whole Foods several years in a row. Their sides are really lackluster, so I'm not sure why I keep ordering from them. But their oven-ready turkey is really good. I've done their full size herb-roasted oven-ready and their turkey breast for smaller occasions. I think this year I'm just going with their turkey and will get the sides elsewhere. Disappointed to hear from other PPs that Balducci's is also just so-so. |
| Oh, and Whole Foods doesn't put up its menu until early November, if memory serves. Check it in a week or two. |
