"I hate football" wives club

Anonymous
I hate football, I said it. I can't take the countless hours watching it on the weekends. Frankly I can't watch anything for that long let along football. So I am looking for a wives club that likes to lunch on Sunday and leave the kids at home while DH rots his brain with football. Anyone know of anything like this!

I hate american football (but love soccer). Luckily DH hates all team sports, so no football watching in our house.

I get mani/pedis on sundays! DH is obsessed with fantasy football, so it's not just about one team. He is obsessed with every play made by every player in every game. I'm pretty much single on Sundays during football season.

I'm so glad my DH doesn't like football (he'll tolerate it in small doses to be social, but would never just turn the game on). I can tolerate small doses as well, and usually manage about 10 minutes of the super bowl.

We don't wach football or any other sport on this house, but DH loves WoW. Sometimes (when I am in a VERY good mood) he can play for hours, hours and hours.

As a man, I am sure that every football hating wife has a hobby or habit that annoys your husband as much as watching football on the boob tube for 3 hours on a Sunday annoys you. I know that my DW has plenty, that's for sure. But I let them to her and allows me mine. And an unspoken compromise is born.

I hate to say it, but that could very well be worse than football. WoW can consume people's lives and lead them to ruin. I know of one case personally and I am sure there are plenty others.

Hate all football, even your hometown and college teams? Really?

Yes, agree - but DH has limits, and he works very hard (full time job and in our house, helping), so it is a good outlet. Like, for instance, on weekends the "daytime" is family time (chores, errands, family trips, brunch, etc) and after 7pm he can go raid or whatever. But we also go out at night and he is always ready/happy to go to the movies, have dinner etc.

Yes, really (NP here). Why is that so hard to believe? I have never seen anything remotely interesting about football or any team sport to be honest. Just not something I find worth my time. I don't understand why so many people like it. But, to each her own. I'm just incredibly glad I married a man who isn't interested in them either, because it would get on my last nerve.

3hrs on sunday!! i wish. more like 8 hrs on sunday (to include highlights and re-broadcasts) also the college games on sat, and mon night football. plus the constant online teams, reading football blogs and watching espn on an endless loop. i can't think of anything i do that equals this. not even close.

I hate women who love football and scream and curse at the TV while watching. Just had to say it.
And what is WoW?

for 100,000+ years plus men would battle each other in constant warfare, families, clans, tribes, nations, whatever. We have become more "civilized" over the last few hundred years (or technology has made war too dangerous), so now men use their testosterone for more peaceful means - they get really into sports. It is very tribal, and it is very normal. You just have to accept it. Guys that are not interested in it are the ones that are abnormal (not in a bad way, just not the norm), and may be effeminite or loners.

It stands to "World of Warcraft" - basically a online multiplayer game, where you can choose and develop a game avatar: you can be a warrior, a healer, a paladin, a night elf, a hunter, etc. YOu can join a guild, do quests, dailies (for game money, since you have to support yoursel in game - mounts, gear, enhancement spells, and fun stuff like pets), and at the end game level you can raid with other fellow players (go into instances and fight high end bosses with 10 to 25 other men/women and try to defeat them).

You can also play against other players.

It is VERY time consumming, so it can be dangerous. It has over 8 million players all over the world.
