1. Walt Disney World by a mile. When they are young the BELIEVE and are still too small for most ride which limits your day and makes it easier to manage. They will also be enthralled by the shows and the character meals. Easy trip for the adults and memories for a lifetime (at least until they are older and want to start riding the rollercoasters!).
2. Arizona. Stay at a big resort that has camps for the kids -- some do start at age three so both your kids can be at camp while you are at the pool or spa. Break up the week by doing a day trip to the grand canyon (they are services that fly you up and back) and another one in a hummer through the desert. 3. New York City. Prime them by watching Night at the Museum. Take them to the Museum of Natural History, if you have boys to the ESPN Zone, if you have girls to the American Girl Store, Cupcake Cafe, FAO Schwarz, carriage ride through Central Park, Mary Poppins on Broadway. 4. London, yes, London. Prime them by watching Mary Poppins and Peter Pan. Go to: Peter Pan Statue in Kensington Gardens, St. Paul's Cathedral to look for the Old Bird Woman, Big Ben where Peter Pan, Wendy and the boys fly before going to Neverland, changing of the guards at Buck Palace, Tower of London (make sure they dress up as Knights/Princesses) and to Hamley's Toy Store. If you are up to it, go to the British Museum to see the Mummies. Easy day trip to Stonehenge or Windsor Castle or any of the other area castles that have jousting tournaments in the summer. See whichever Disney show is showing in the West End. HAVE FUN!!! Loved traveling at these ages to these places with mine. |
OP Here: Thanks for the great ideas and thorough response! |
| Disney Cruise. |
| We like local and low key. The Outerbanks and Shenandoah for us...nothing too terribly exciting but great quality family time. |
