I enroll my 2 year old in daycare starting in summer because I thought most kids would start in the fall (September). And, I was hoping that my kid would get a bit more attention. This daycare has fall semester, spring semester, and summer camp.
What a surprise, 10 out of 12 kids in his classroom are new. It was a bunch of crying & tears & not understanding the rules (including my boy) on their first day of daycare, and it was really a mess. It must be really hard for the 2 teachers to handle.

| Um, yeah, daycare is not school, and kids start year-round, based on when they were born. |

Our daycare always had a lot of movement over the summer because kids are wrapping up pre-K and switching over to camp for the summer. So while kids moved between classes throughout the year as they had birthdays/hit milestones, there were often a whole bunch of openings in summer as the kids aging out of daycare created a trickle down effect.
Also people with kids tend to move over summer, so it's common time to be switching in and out of daycares. |
+1 that's how we got our spot in daycare last summer, people moving away once the school year wrapped up or was close to wrapping up and switching daycares at that point. |
