Is there a Performing Arts High School in MD?

There is a performing arts middle school called Loiderman. Check on the MCPS webpage under the parents tab and then look at special magnet programs.

I'm unclear about the application process for this -- I think kids in boundary get in but kids out of boundary have to apply. Right now the parent information nights about all the magnet schools are ongoing so check the mcps website for info about the dates for those.

Blake High School in the Northeast Consortium (MCPS) has a performing arts focus.

There are lots of theater kids at the Blair communication arts magnet. But if you're looking for music or dance, I don't believe there is one in MoCo. And with Weast cutting out what he disparagingly calls "boutique" programs, the prospects aren't good for there being one any time soon.
