NYC Hotel for Family of Five

Anonymous
Looking for suggestions for a mid-July trip to NYC with our family of five. Searching hotels.com gave limited options for 5; tons of options if I changed the search to 4. Any 5+ person families out there who have found a good option?

The Courtyard Midtown East has two queens and a sofa bed.

Thank you. It looks as though they don't have availability for our dates (at least through the online portal). I also checked for a later date (in October) just to get a sense of price and it quoted $569/night - definitely out of our price range. I probably should have said in my original post that our budget is no more than $400/night, but hoping to keep it under $350/night. A unicorn for 5 people?

I had looked at getting adjoining rooms at The Giraffe but it was out of my husband’s moral price range

We are paying $279 in August. Not sure which is typical.

Get an Airbnb. We stayed in a 1 bedroom on Park avenue for $250/night. Parents slept in the bed, toddler on the floor of the bedroom, and two big kids on the couch and floor in the living room. Plus, it was nice that we had a kitchen /fridge for snacks and simple meals.

I say there are four of us to open up more options and I bring a sleeping bag for one of my boys. They usually fight over who gets the sleeping bag. We stayed at the Chelsea highline and the Ace hotel with our kids. I can't say either hotel was very kid friendly, but we really like the hotels.

Wow, that's amazing. My kids don't even like sleeping on the sofabed!

OP, I would look at Residence Inns since they are all suites. I also would look at the Conrad, also all suites.

Residence inn in nyc probably has a suite, but to get that type of room, you might have to pay slightly more. Also, book direct on their site, not on Expedia.

The Manhattan Club and West 57th Club are timeshare condos, big enough to fit 5 and can usually find for under $300/night if you rent from an owner
