Do you think the private schools prefer SAHMs or WMs related to admission of DC

I know this will get nasty, but honestly curious if there is a belief out there per a preference?

No- not at all.

I have often wondered about this myself. I really think that it depends on the school. I could see how a very traditional/regiligous school MAY have a preference (family values and all). Also, school that really rely on parent participation would likely prefer SAHMs (they have more time). Even if they do not have a preference, certain families may self select. In the NPS vs. Beauvoir post someone mention how most of the families at NPS seem to be "traditional patriaichal families. I read this to mean "the wives stayed home". In addition to diversity, the nature of the parent pool is one of the things that I intend to look at very closely when I starting visiting schools in the fall.

I saw a preference for SAHMs in just one school.

At beauvouir where DC attends, we were told that over 80% of families have dual working parents.

I am a first year Beauvoir parent - I only have met a few parents (enough to know what they do for a living) and most of the other moms I have met do work...I don't.
