| My 4th grader will take her AM dose but school gets out at 11:40 and she takes her medication before lunch which is at 12:20 which means she will miss her afternoon dose and going to KinderCare after. She on Adderall IR 10MG twice a day and her doctor said XR don't work as well. |

| on the weekends she only takes her Morning dose and she fine, only takes an afternoon dose if we are doing something important or traveling |

Is it that big of a deal, OP, whether she takes her second dose? What does she want to do? It's important to get her to think about these things. My middle schooler takes meds for school or on WE when he has a ton of homework, but otherwise he desperately needs to grow and put on weight, so he takes med holidays the rest of the time. On the last day of school, he'll have the option of taking his extended release dose or just one of his shorter ones. Up to him. The extended release ensures that there's no low and high in the middle of the day, and has been proven to work much better than multiple doses. Not sure why your psychiatrist told you otherwise... |
