I've heard friends rave over packing cubes. Do they really make a difference? I'm packing for a 2 week vacation in Europe and want to travel with my smaller suitcase. The last trip I took I rolled my clothes and it made a huge difference in how much I could fit into my suitcase. Would packing cubes be helpful for me? |
I can't tell you how amazing they are. There's something about being organized that really makes a difference. This comes from me, a wife that rolled her eyes so hard when my husband bought them. I am their biggest fan now. |
Anything that costs more money is useless. I'm already paying a fortune for airfare and hotels and food. The rest I can manage. I have large zip bags to organize my things if I want to. |
8:38 here. I had the same POV as 8:39 but not anymore. Packing cubes for the win. Especially since I travel with 4 people and all of our stuff is organized. |
How do you know what sizes to buy? |
I am curious - I am a super organized person and we (family of 4) travel with 3 carry ons and one backpack for a week. We don’t overstuff, just keep outfits coordinated and make use of laundry services in hotels. Do the packing cubes help even more? |
I don’t think it helps with packing more more, but it helps with organixing. If you are using large suitcase s. I use a carryon and find them difficult for that size. I roll. |
I'm a convert. Was so much easier today organized. I bought a set on Amazon that came in a variety of sizes. Pretty cheap. |
I use packing cubes for big family trips where kids items go in a large duffel. I have separate colors for each child and small ones hold toiletries, medium ones hold pajamas and bedtime stuff (books), large one hold clothes underwear socks.
Works for us! I don’t think they help pack more items, just help you organize. I have coworkers who travel extensively for work and they swear by them. One person packs an entire outfit in each cube - everything from clothes and undergarments to accessories, so she doesn’t have to unpack her whole back and can just grab what she needs. |
I thought they helped me pack more in (i've only used twice) mostly because i can squish a whole bunch of underwears/etc into the cubes that would otherwise take up more room because they're packed loosely. |
I travel a fair amount for work and wouldn't be without my packing cubes. I love eBags both for packing cubes and for functional and durable luggage. It's helpful with organization and with space arrangement, plus if you're making multiple stops you don't have to unpack your entire suitcase. |
NP. Can anyone recommend a specific brand, or are they all basically the same? |
The e bags packing cubes are great for organizing clothes - a large one for each person's clothes and a small/medium one for each person's socks/underwear/pajamas. They do help you fit more but the organization aspect is what sold me. Makes unpacking easier too. |
I know 1 girlfriend who swears by packing cubes, but to me, she brings way too much stuff. I haven't checked a bag in a decade. |
They are around $20 and last for years. |
