Beta question

Hello Ladies,

I’m a bit worried that my beta is not increasing/doubling as it should. The numbers are below:

Beta #1 15dp5dt 3,045
Beta #2 17dp5dt 4,842

My first thought on Monday was OMG, twins (we xfered 2 "good" blasts), but now I'm wondering if the 2nd number is too low as it's only a 60% increase.
The nurse did not seem to be concerned and sounded very pleased on the phone.

Any thoughts or anyone experiece something similar without any issues? Should I be worried?

Check the Betabase chart for doubling time.
(link is for singleton but there is also a twins chart)

There is actually a pretty wide range for doubling time.

I think your numbers look great!

Wow beta's in the 3000's, makes my results seem off, I had a first beta of 51 Sun, 12 days post 3dt of a 8 cell embryo from Natural cycle IVF and it was 126 on Tues. I go back tomorrow for a repeat.

OP here. Thanks for the beta website; helped to put my mind at ease. You should try it PP as I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Plus, my betas were done later than the norm I've seen.

Op---I honestly wouldn't worry. Your betas were done REALLY late and the rate of increase begins to slow down over time and once the numbers hit several thousand. Also, the official standard for viable betas is a 60% (not 100% as we all think) increase every 48 hours.

I've had 2 successful IVF pregnancies (one twin, one singleton) and my betas were always high because they were drawn at SG which does hcg draws really late and I NEVER had the hcg double in 48 hours. At best mine went up 70%.

Good luck but I'm sure you are fine!

I am not 100% but I am almost sure that mine were not doubling at all but more like your range. We have twins from that cycle! Good luck. I remember the excitement from my positive HPT lasted about 5 minutes before all the worry set in. Human nature.

my first beta 14 days post 5dt of two 8 cell embies is 2716, does this mean I have twins? Dr. Gordon and the nurses just said "wait and see," but does anyone who had a beta this high not have twins?
