Watch the campaign ad that has upset the White House

This is an ad for Dan Helmer who is one of six Democrats running in the June 12 primary to see who will run against Barbara Comstock. This ad upset the White House so much that they issues a statement calling it "reprehensible". I have no opinion about which Democrat should win the primary, but found it interesting that Helmer could so easily provoke the White House:

It IS reprehensible for an American politician to draw a parallel between Trump and the mastermind behind our country's greatest terror attack. And he actually thinks this will win him an election?

The fact that Democrats can stoop this low, and demonize the president, along with those who voted for him, is the bigger threat to our democracy. Haven't we seen on this forum how (some) liberals have said they would fire, or not hire, someone who voted for Trump? That is penalizing people for their vote, by threatening their livelihood. This "my way or the highway" thinking of Democrats, where people are punished for their votes, is the true threat to democracy.

Of Democrats? My way or the highway? You're describing Trump, my friend.

When G.W. Bush was elected, despite losing the popular vote, he at least extended an olive branch to those who didn't vote for him and showed he was everyone's president. Trump has NEVER made an effort to position himself as the whole country's president. Trump is the one who has punished people for their votes. He only speaks to, and plays to, those who voted for him. This, combined with his disrespectful treatment of pretty much every group of people other than white men (disabled people, blacks, Muslims, Gold Star dads, military heroes, women.....) is what has resulted in the anger that you see.

Make no mistake--Trump is unAmerican. Not bin Laden, to be sure, but definitely unAmerican.
