Waiting on ivf results

Hello all -


First time poster. I had my ET last Sunday at SGF. 18 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized, 11 still going strong on day 2 (my clinic gives day 1, 2 and 5 updates). Waiting on my day 5 results and will likely pgs test if we have any blasts. This is our 2nd ivf cycle - last time ended with one blast which we tested. it was abnormal. Looking for some encouragement and hope!

You did your part. You put in a lot of hard work and effort. Now you wait and be optimistic. It is never helpful to feel anxious. It is out of your control, and try to find some peace. You had a good egg retrieval and it’s very promising!! Good luck!

I had very similar stats to yours. First retrieval had one blast which was abnormal. Second retrieval I had 10 fertilize and 6 made it to blast. 2 of the 6 were normal(I’m 39). 20 weeks pregnant now.

How many fertilized last time?

OP here: 1st cycle I had 8 eggs retrieved, 5 were mature. 4 fertilized and 1 made it to blast. So, numbers are much better this time.

Hope you have better odds with more to work with this time. Try to find some good books to get absorbed with for now. You will get result soon and start obsessing about some new issue soon enough. You have a 3-4 day pause now with no decisions or things to do.... Good luck!

Got my call today and 2 made it to blast. The other 9 are still growing and they are hopeful for 3 tomorrow.
