Advice on PEP?

Anonymous
Hello!

Can anyone share their experience with Montgomery County’s PEP program? I am specifically hoping to hear about INC and Classic. What did you like? Dislike? What was the tracher’s approach to instruction? What kinds of gains did your child make, etc? Or not make?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Our DS started PEP Inc as soon as he turned 3 and it has helped him tremendously in improving his behavior and language. He went from not speaking more than a few words to now speaking simple sentences and having complex thoughts. He will also play with others and try to find friends. They used a variety of techniques, including picture exchange communication, group learning with lots of support, and a variety of other therapy tools. The only thing I would like changed is for PEP to be longer. He is only there for 2.5 hours a day, 5-days a week. They even reduced hours last year due to budget cuts; it was 3 hours a day.

You are not getting replies because your question is too broad. Come back when you can name a school or talk about a particular choice you are trying to make.

Thanks! My real question is about the difference between INC and Classic. Even our early intervention providers feel unsure of which would be a better fit for my son, so I was hoping to hear descriptions of what people’s experiences were in either of those programs.
