new to the area and looking to minimize drive to practices. DD is an ok player, was playing travel in our previous city on a mid-level team. she's 10 and we're in nw d.c. near bethesda. also looking at stoddert, potomac, bethesda. she really enjoys playing but our family cannot handle too big of a commitment.

It depends on how serious you are. I always recommends that girls u12 and under to take a look ar a strong MSI classic team . No need to drive all over the DMV for games when you can stay local and still play the same quality. If she is serious after u12, you can then do travel. Potomac will take your money but not give you much in return. Bethesda will take your money nut your daughter will burn out. Stoddert is between Bethesda and Potomac. Use the money you save playing classic to enroll your daughter in supplamental training. Travel in MoCo is a joke before u12. NoVA has money more options.

thanks 16:26. we reached one of the msi classic teams and have sticker shock at the price of 1600 and that doesn't include the uniform. travel was that much in our area. left messages for potomac and stoddert. how much more are they?

I think Potomac will be about $2200 for u11 plus about $400 for uniform.

If you are in DC, Arlington maybe an option. You would have to look at the drive times. Have you looked at MD Rush. Rush does not do tryout. You go to practice. Stoddert girls travel does not have a good rep. BSC if you are not on the top team forget. The skill range on the second team can vary widely and a few coaches are pretty bad.

OP, my daughter is currently on a U10 Classic Team (Hurricanes) that is coached by a parent coach. Hence, it’s much cheaper than what you were quoted by the other MSI Classic team. We are currently 4th in the standings for this Spring Season out of 11 Teams. We are currently looking to add more players for the upcoming Fall 2018 season. The MSI Hurricanes head coach’s contact info is on the MSI Classic Tryouts website. Reach out to him to ask for a tryout.
