Switching from Beauvoir?

Anonymous
Does anyone switch from Beauvoir to Sidwell when Beauvoir separates into St. Alban's and NCS? I realize that the Sidwell lower school runs another year and is out in Bethesda but I'm wondering if chossing Beauvoir in practice translates into not attending Sidwell later. I also realize that these schools have very low acceptance rates in any event, and that there are many excellent schools out there.

It does happen and according to people at the school, more so than in the past. One problem, as you point out, is that 4th grade is not an expansion year for Sidwell; 3rd grade is. However, when I took my child for her Beauvoir playdate, we were told that thanks to close cooperation with one of the Sidwell board members, some Beauvoir students do go there every year for 4th grade. I don't remember if "some" meant 2-3, 5-6, or what.
