my feet or lack there of

i used to have feet. now i just have a trunks that goes from my hips to my toes. i have no ankles. i'm usually a size 7.5/8 but now can only wear flip flops. i tried to buy a larger size in ballet flats and couldn't even get a size 10 on. compression socks used to work, not anymore. i just really wish i had feet again. i know the end is near (36w) but i can't wait to wear shoes again.

how long does it take the swelling to go down after birth?

My feet swelled with my first toward the end - I could only wear flip flops. I remember being nervous that I would have to buy ALL NEW shoes, but it went back to normal rather quickly (if not right away). I am now 37.5 weeks pregnant with my secon and there is no swelling to report yet (fingers crossed). First prgnancy I gave birth in September and this time I am due in October - maybe the cooler weather is making the difference this time.

My feet and lower legs looked normal again about 3 days after the birth. I almost cried, I was so happy. (And I gained a whopping 52 lbs. Mostly water - lost 29 pounds almost overnight.)

My feet actually started to swell before I even knew I was pregnant. And now I'm 28 weeks and they're still swollen. Compression stockings only seem to help my calves, not my cankles or sausage feet.

I do find that if I wear tennis shoes for an extended period (once I force my feet into them), my feet are almost completely non-swollen when I take them off.
