What are some examples of beta levels indicative of chemical pregnancies?
Our first beta was low 100s (at 14dp3dt). 48 hours later it had risen by 60 points but had not doubled. Am now sitting here on pins and needles waiting on 3rd test results and trying to be realistic. It's so difficult to get to this point (multiple IUIs and IVFs) and try to temper the wild optimism at seeing that first positive. |
| Was this an IVF? How many did you transfer? If it was more than one, your numbers may indicate a vanishing twin. I wouldn't give up hope yet - I hope you get some encouraging third beta results and I'm sorry you have to go through this worry. |
| Transferred 4. Two of good 3day quality, one mediocre and one just hanging on at time of transfer. Thanks for the support. Is impossible to concentrate at work. I stare at the phone. Injections don't bother me, but the emotional rollercoaster is grueling. |

i know what you mean. i just stare at the phone as though it will magically start ringing.
my RE had said that sometimes, HCG levels do not double for everyone and they continue to have normal pregnancies. best of luck! |
| OP, I'm currently in my 3rd trimester post NCIVF 3dt and my initial betas did not double and everything I read scared me into thinking it was an abnormal pregnancy or an ectopic. There's really nothing you can do but wait and see which I know is torture, but keep in mind many betas don't follow a textbook pattern. I hope it works out for you. |
| My first was 501 and mt second 930--I had one healthy baby and one empty sack. |

I am so sorry you are going through this. Note that the betas don't actually need to double every 48 hours. Some good information is here http://www.betabase.info/
I had two chemicals and in both my betas never got above 100. Personally I tried never to get too optimistic since after 5 IUIs and 2 IVFs I got tired of getting disappointed. I did go on to have a healthy baby on IVF #2 though. Hope you get good news as well. |
