| as an official I've seen this club quite a bit for the most part good run program. I have seen one of their teams use a boy 3-3 years older than his teammates . the team used a passport rather than birth certificate to prove age. (red flag) . its shame I see this quite a bit mostly with non US born kids. it helps nobody beside the parents ego. |

the link is to a list of the 2017-18 teams, but lists the tryouts for next year. I haven't seen what the previous posted... unfortunately there can be rogue coaches across all clubs who will attempt to get an older player into a game. I couldn't agree more that this is not good for anyone. This is certainly not a practice endorsed or encouraged by Rush or any other club, I am sure. As far as the passport versus birth certificate, I actually disagree that this has to be a red flag. There should be room for international players who do not have immediate access to their birth certificates but can provide proof of birthdate with a passport. MSYSA and other carding organizations accept either a birth certificate or a passport as proof of birth.
We have been very happy with the rush organization. A nice community focused on player development, teambuilding, and getting players into the correct level of play for their development. Certainly teams want to win, but I think Rush coaches do a great job focused on long term development of players and not who is doing the best in today's practice versus their teammates. |

I emailed the coach & team manager to ask about new tryout dates due to the heavy rain this week.
Neither of them bothered to respond. |
