I'm short - about 5 feet tall - and the head restraints that have a strong angle really end up bothering me because of where they fall on my body.
Anyone else have this problem? What car do you like? Need to have enough room for 2 car seats and good trunk space. |
| I'm sure there has to be some head rest product that straps onto the seat solve that problem, instead of buying an entirely new car. My wife is short 5'2''-3'' and we own a Nissan Rogue. Haven't heard any complaints from her. We also got the top of the line Rogue so it also had adjustable lumbar support. |

I am in need of a new car, not purchasing a new one for this reason. But I don't want to end up with an issue I have in my husband's car. Adding another piece to the restraint will not help as I have to make the seat so high so that I can see over the dashboard that the highly angled part of the restraint is hitting my head where it is the largest, not at the curve of my neck, so it is pushing my head forward. |

What you’re describing sounds normal. I am 5’6” and have never had a head rest hit the curve of my neck. That would only make whiplash worse. |
| Since the headrests are removable, are there vendors that sell straight headrests instead of curved one? Maybe ask the parts department at the dealer. |

Are you sure the headrests are adjusted? Mine have a forward and an upright setting, pull the headrest far forward to reset.
Also, completely serious, try sitting on a cushion. Car safety features are designed for a fairly narrow range of seating positions so if you are not boosted you may hit the seat belt etc. wrong as well. There are purpose-made cushions, it doesn't have to be a pillow. |

| Yes! Volvo and Toyota are especially bad with these. I have the Mercedes GLS and it has up/down adjustable headrests which I can fool around with to make them comfortable. |
| I am 5’2” and I commiserate. Pedal pushing is not too comfortable either because I have to push with my tippy toes not the entire foot (due to my especially short legs disproportionate to height). I own a Genesis, used to have an Accord. Same problems. |
| I have this problem too and have to be very close to the steering wheel for my feet to reach the pedals. I would be injured if the airbag deployed and yet I still can’t see the front of my car. |

Same issue. Some cars are worse than others. I used to drive my friend's Camry and my knees hit the dash but I still had trouble with the pedals. I definitely think I would be injured by the airbags. I wonder why more car manufacturers don't think about petite people when designing cars. You'd think pedal extenders would be somewhat standard. |
