Have you been to Volt in Frederick?

I'm an avid Top Chef fan and have heard that Volt is fantastic. Is it worth the drive all the way to Frederick? Is it super pricey?

I am thinking about taking DH there for his bday. So, I would love to know the answer as well. The online menu looks really good. All the reviews I have read have been excellent.

It was reviewed in the Post by Tom Sietsema awhile back and got a good review. Here is the dinner menu - looks about the same price as a nice restaurant in DC.

I, too, love him on Top Chef and am intrigued to see how he will do. He seems much nicer than the other DC guy from Zaytinya!

I am the 18:24 poster, the guy from Zatinya is just annoying. I am hoping one of the Voltaggio brothers will win!!

I was a little disappointed. The food was good but it was a little over-elaborate, in that the various foams and sprays were a bit of a distraction from the quality of the ingredients. It seemed a little over-fussy.

Volt got great reviews even before Bryan Voltaggio was on Top Chef.

If you go, try to dine at Table 21 (I think that's what it's called) - the special chef's table with tasting menu
