Mosquito Barrier

Anyone try this product on their DC/NoVA lawn? I'm desperate, but I don't want to kill the bees. It's a garlic barrier spray you apply yourself. Amazon reviews say it works for some areas, not for others so before I sink my money into another quack product, I was hoping someone would have tried it around here? Thanks.

I did it. It was about 6 years ago. It came from Canada. Didn’t work. I would do it once a week and nothing. Eaten alive. I don’t think any of the organic stuff works.

Anyway I live near a spring in a wooded area inside the Beltway fwiw. Summers are awful.

Last year I tried lighting a fire outside to keep the mosquitoes away. I kept thinking I’m going to die from the smoke. Pick your poison.

I used it once prior for a backyard party. I’d say it reduced the number of mosquitoes significantly. However, I used a higher concentration than the bottle suggested, and sprayed the hell out of the yard.

I’m going to try using it every couple of weeks this summer. Figured it was worth a shot. First round was today. I did some yard work after spraying. Still saw some lingering, but not as many as usual.

If you want to just be outside and relatively stationary, a large fan is a decent deterrent. They can’t fly in the wind from the fan.
