This is a little silly but here goes -- 3 years ago, before we knew anything about Arlington, some friends took us to a nice dive-y burger and beer type place in Arlington. But now we can't remember where exactly it was or what it was called.
We're sure it was somewhere along a major street but could have been anywhere from Rosslyn to Ballston. The place was dimly-lit, staffed by hipsters, and I want to say it had hand-painted art on the walls. It had really good burgers, a decent beer selection, and a really local feel. Does this ring any bells for anyone? |
| Sorry I should add that it was definitely not Ray's. |

Whitlow's on Wilson?
Lost Dog Cafe? |

If it was't Whitlow's, I'll bet you're thinking of Whitey's which was on Washington Blvd at/near Pershing. Nasty dive bar atmosphere with pool tables and amazing burgers.
Closed down a few years ago. The wine bar Tallula is now in its place. |
| Iota or Galaxy Hut are "hipster" joints but don't know about their menu's since I've only gone to drink! Cowboy Cafe is in S. Arlington but I don't think it has the funky art. |
| RIP Whitey's. |

Thanks for all the ideas. It actually turned out to be the Clarendon Grill I was thinking of.
And now I have a handy list of other Arlington burger places

You need to add The Broiler to that list. A *TRUE* dive, but great burgers. |
