what exercises to do for back flab?

I'm 39, petite but about 7-8 pounds over my usual weight. I'm just starting to exercise again after many years. I noticed some flab under my bra-line on my back. Is that just age or is there something I can do to tighten that up? Will losing weight help? Thanks.

You could be wearing the wrong size bra or wrong style. Have a professional fitting with a certified fitter to find out. 9 out of 10 women do wear the wrong bra! There are bras out there that are laser-cut and eliminate the pinching and ripples caused by the elastic.

If it is not that, then a weight machine that hangs overhead and allows you to pull the bar down behind your head and back will help build muscle there.

A lower fat diet is the third element. More fruits and veggies combined with exercise will also help.

I was also thinking that your bra may just be too tight. If you are only 7/8 pounds over then it really should not be affecting your back "flab". Now if you have gained more weight than that then definitely the back flab would be showing. Age would also then cause more 'hang".
